Slide Announcements

Now I'm working on the slide announcements that will play at the weekend services. There are about ten of them that I need to design and work on. It's a little crazy, especially since about 7,000 people will see them every weekend. I'll post a couple when I get them done!

Edit.

Just found out that there's about 30. woooohooo.

Here's a sample one. They aren't too challenging, but 30 of anything is time consuming. I've done about 9 so far, and I've definitely been working on them since 9 a.m. I personally love this second one.

Second Day

My second day, I was assigned to go through all the logos that New Life has, including all of the life groups. (that makes probably about 5 billion) and update them. Whoever did them the first time did them in photoshop. (super lame) My job was to make them all again in illustrator, so that the files can actually be used large scale and not be grainy and pixely. So that's what I did. I went through all the files and figured out what fonts were used, etc.

I was going to post a bunch on here, but I have to make them jpgs for that. So just know, they were grainy and pixely, and now they look beautiful and vectored.

I also spent a lot of yesterday setting up for the art action that they're having to raise money for Ethiopian adoption. I took the posters that I made, and printed 3 of them at the church. The church has a large scale printer, which is an awesome resource. The posters are 24x46, and the printing job was beautiful. I mounted them on foam core, and set them up at the gallery. The auction is tonight, and I really want/need to go. Alas, work calls. I gotta make that dough. The gallery room they have is wonderful! It's at downtown Little Rock, and it's in the top floor of ZuLu's.

I really love this internship so far, I get to do design work, while doing good. It's pretty perfect.

p.s. I'm going to make this blog nicer, and design it myself as soon as I get a chance!

The posters turned out really well. I had 32, 11"x17" prints of facts about Africa for the Art Auction. I think part of my job tomorrow is setting up for it, and making it pretty. I also did 3 large scale posters for the event. They look like this. :)
